#20170609 - Help to build smart class for a tribal government school near Theni

Aalayam has received a request from a government school headmaster to sponsor tablets to build smart class for children. The headmaster is an enterprising teacher, who has experimented with interactive technologies to engage students. Aalayam has been acquainted with him for some time and is familiar with his work.

He was earlier working as headmaster for a government school that catered to tribal children in village near Theni. Aalayam has visited the school, where volunteers sponsored books and other education material for the students. It was a unique experience to observe the unconventional teaching methods of the headmaster, who also shares his ideas with other government school teachers.

In the past, a private organisation has given him an award to recognise his commitment to teaching.

Aalayam has approved the sponsorship of the tablets. Our target is to collect Rs. 50,000 to purchase four Android 10" tablets.
